AI & Design Systems Course Status: Chapters 1 and 2 are live!

16+ hours of video, a community that doesn't suck, and a hard deadline on the $500 preorder price.

This one feels good to write.

Brad Frost, Ian Frost, and I just published Chapters 1 and 2 of the AI and Design Systems course. After months of recording, editing, building the community, and figuring out how to teach this stuff in a way that actually sticks, the first two chapters are out in the world. 16+ hours of video so far, counting course lessons, the bi-weekly community jam sessions, and the demos we’ve been releasing along the way.

Chapter 1 is the orientation. The history of design systems, the history of AI, where they meet, and what the vocabulary actually means. Chapter 2 is the hands-on one. I walk through AI tooling and demystify things like API keys. Brad recorded 20 videos on Git and GitHub, which sounds like a developer-only topic but in this new landscape it really isn’t.

Chapters 3, 4, and 5 are in active production and this is where it gets fun:

  • Using AI to improve design systems (nearly done, and the demos are awesome!)

  • Making better products with AI and design systems

  • Inventing the future of UX

One thing we’ve been deliberate about from day one: the early chapters cover durable, evergreen concepts. The later ones go after the stuff that’s changing every week. That way the foundation holds up and the cutting-edge material gets to stay cutting edge.

The part I really didn’t expect to love this much is the community. We got a DM in Slack recently that stuck with us:

“This community is the least toxic AI space I’ve encountered. It is so refreshing in that way; everyone seems so helpful and respectful.”

That’s the bar we’re trying to hold, and the jam sessions every other week have turned into something I genuinely look forward to. People showing what they’ve built. People asking real questions. People who build the tools sitting alongside people using them, figuring things out together.

The $500 preorder price ends EOD Tuesday, May 26th. After that, $995. Team discounts at 3+ seats. Purchasing power parity, student, and job-seeker discounts are available too. Email courses@bradfrost.com if that applies.
