The design community has been losing its mind over DESIGN.md files for the past few weeks. Google launched Stitch, their AI design tool, and part of the pitch was this concept of a DESIGN.md file that Stitch reads before generating any UI. It stores your brand colors, fonts, spacing rules, and component styles in one place. Stitch reads it every time you prompt it, and the output stays consistent with your product instead of looking like a generic template.
Cool. Also, not new.
